FAQ — Moonlight Bakery AZ

Question 1

How far in advance should I place my order?

Accepted Answer

I recommend reaching out at least two weeks in advance, as my calendar can fill quickly—especially around weekends and holidays. That said, I know life doesn't always give us that much notice, so feel free to reach out and I'll let you know what's available.

Question 2

How do I reserve my date?

Accepted Answer

Your date is reserved once your order is confirmed and the required payment is received. Orders of $100 or more require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 7 days before pickup or delivery.

Orders under $100, as well as orders placed less than 7 days before pickup or delivery, require payment in full at the time of booking.

Please note that submitting an inquiry or receiving a quote does not reserve your date.

Question 3

Can you recreate a cake from an inspiration photo?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Inspiration photos are a great way to show me the style, colors and details you love. I'll use them as inspiration while creating a custom design for your celebration. Because every cake is handmade, I don't guarantee exact replicas, but I'll work with you to capture the overall look and feel you're going for.

Question 4

Can you match a specific color?

Accepted Answer

I'm happy to work with your color palette and will get as close as possible to the shades you request. Keep in mind that colors can look different depending on lighting, screens and food coloring, so exact color matches can't always be guaranteed. If you have specific colors in mind, inspiration photos or color swatches are always helpful.

Question 5

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Orders are available for pickup in Surprise. A Goodyear pickup option may also be available by arrangement for customers who are farther from Surprise.

Delivery is available for an additional fee and is calculated from Moonlight Bakery's Surprise location. The delivery fee is $25 for locations within 10 miles. For locations more than 10 miles away, additional mileage beyond the initial 10 miles is charged at $1 per mile, round trip.

Your pickup arrangements or final delivery fee will be confirmed with your custom quote.

Question 6

Do you accommodate food allergies or dietary requests?

Accepted Answer

Moonlight Bakery operates from a home kitchen where common allergens, including wheat, eggs, milk, soy and nuts, may be present. Because of the possibility of cross-contact, I cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from allergens.

If you have a specific dietary request, please include it with your inquiry and I'll let you know what options may be available.

Question 7

Can I make changes to my order after booking?

Accepted Answer

I understand that details can change! If you need to make an adjustment to your order, please reach out as soon as possible. Changes are generally accepted up to 10 days before your pickup or delivery date, when possible.

Some custom design elements or specialty supplies may need to be ordered in advance, so certain changes may require additional notice or may not be possible once those items have been purchased. Changes that increase the size, quantity or complexity of your order may result in an additional charge.

Question 8

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Accepted Answer

I understand that plans sometimes change. Because your date is reserved specifically for you, all deposits are non-refundable.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact me as soon as possible. Depending on the circumstances and the status of your order, a credit toward a future order may be offered at Moonlight Bakery's discretion. Any future order is subject to availability and current pricing.

Cancellations made 7 days or less before pickup or delivery are non-refundable, as your order has been finalized and supplies may have been purchased or preparation may have begun.

In the unlikely event that Moonlight Bakery is unable to fulfill your order, all payments will be refunded in full.

Question 9

How should I transport and store my cake?

Accepted Answer

Every cake includes care instructions to help you transport and enjoy it safely. Cakes should be transported on a flat, level surface such as the floorboard of your vehicle, with the air conditioning running—especially in the Arizona heat. Cakes should never be placed on a seat, as the angle can cause shifting or damage.

Once home, keep your cake refrigerated until approximately one hour before serving, unless otherwise instructed.

Some cakes may contain dowels, supports, toppers or other structural elements. Please use care when cutting and serving and remove all non-edible items before consuming.

Once an order has been picked up and leaves Moonlight Bakery's care, Moonlight Bakery is not responsible for damage caused during transportation, handling or improper storage.

Question 10

What if I'm late for my scheduled pickup?

Accepted Answer

Please plan to arrive at your scheduled pickup time, as pickup availability is coordinated around my baking and delivery schedule. If you're running late, please contact me as soon as possible and I'll do my best to accommodate you.

Arrivals more than 30 minutes after the scheduled pickup time may need to be rescheduled based on availability. A new pickup time is not guaranteed to be available the same day.
